At that time I was just so excited with the news that I got the intern offer, that I didn’t think to request any details. At that time it was enough for me to be familiar with the company where I was about to intern in. Nowadays I do know that my attitude was quite a big mistake. Unluckily, I think that this lesson was actually the only useful lesson I learnt from this internship experience.
Previously I was sure that during the internship I will learn this category of knowledge as well as skills that are transferable also to another similar position. Unluckily, during this internship I was mainly conducting these tasks which no other employee was interested to conduct. I understand that somebody always gotta to do these things , but at the same time I want to learn something new at while doing the intrnship.
Sadly, I didn’t. To be honest I learnt much about New York city and its surroundings as I was helping other employees doing the most boring things that they did’t want to do. Ironically, I learnt where to do cheap custom printing nyc or where to buy best coffee in the district. But I don’t think that this is the sort of knowledge I should gain from the internship.
Futhermore, they didn’t pay me any stipend. I am aware that I was not an employee thus I don’t have any precious experience they might need, but I was anyway doing some activities they would pay for their workers to do. Thus, I really think that they should reimburse me at least symbolic amount of money. Just to confirm that they appreciated my time.
